The Ballerina
Since she was a little girl, Raquel liked to perform – she was born for the stage. One of the first outlets for her talent came in the form of ballet which she took classes for from age seven through seventeen. Her dreams of ever becoming a ballerina died when her teacher told her that she was not suitable for such a sport.

Shortly after her family moved to live in California, her parents decided to get divorced. Around the same time, Raquel won the title of “Miss Fairest of the Fair” at a San Diego county fair. 14-year-old Raquel Welch also took home two more titles that day – “Miss Photogenic” and “Miss Contour”.
