Cool Hand Luke is a 1967 prison drama film starring Paul Newman, George Kennedy, J.D. Cannon, and Robert Drivas. The movie helped elevate Newman as one of the era’s top actors. The film, called the “touchstone of an era,” was nominated for several Academy Awards, winning the award for Best Supporting Actor for Kennedy. It was included in the National Film Registry in 2005.
