In 1999, Rosie O’Donnell invited Tom Selleck as a guest on her show but things took an uncomfortable turn. Selleck came on the show to promote his film The Love Letter but was instead grilled about his position on gun ownership. After numerous pestering questions from O’Donnell, Selleck replied, “It’s your show, and you can talk about it after I leave.”

2010 is Selleck’s most recent film role, alongside Katherine Heigl and Ashton Kutcher in the action comedy film Killers. When casting, Kutcher (who also produced the film) was determined to find someone intimidating to play the part of Mr. Kornfeldt. Kutcher said, “I call Mr. Kornfeldt ‘Sir’ in the script a lot,” he said. “And I was thinking, ‘Who am I going to call Sir?'” Who’s a bigger guy, who’s got an intimidating thing, but doesn’t have to try to be intimidating?” Enter Tom Selleck, ladies and gents.
