Bullied As A Kid

Who would have thought it but Dolly was actually bullied quite a bit as child! Apparently other kids were incredibly jealous of all the attention that Parton received. As a kid, Parton sang on local TV and radio stations which caused the jealousy and bullying of other kids to escalate. At one point, some of the other kids locked her in a coat closet – which might explain why Parton has dedicated herself in the promotion of anti-bullying campaigns.
