Now that the demand for international travel is starting to grow again, the airline has announced that it will be expanding the services that they offer. Many airlines’ schedules were majorly disrupted when the virus began to spread, and that disruption continued for two years.
Now that many restrictions are being to become more eased, Virgin Atlantic will resume the full capacity of its U.S. flight network, including flights to Los Angeles, Orlando, San Francisco, New York, and Atlanta.
Flights to Orlando will be available from four different airports in the UK including Heather, Manchester, Belfast, and Edinburgh.
Juha Jarvinen, the company’s chief commercial officer, shared: “Following the relaxation of travel restrictions, we’ve seen demand increase to many of our global destinations, but particularly to our heartland in the USA. Our customers can’t wait to return.”
He continued: “The restart of our Seattle and Washington DC services mark an important milestone, as we move into recovery and welcome our customers back on board to all the destinations they’ve missed. We’re simply not Virgin without the Atlantic and our growing transatlantic portfolio demonstrates why we’re the airline of choice to the USA.”
The company has seen a 50% increase in bookings for this year as compared to last year, meaning people are now ready more than ever to get back to traveling.
Other airlines will be adding more flights to the U.S. as well. Air Canada will add flights from Montreal to Detroit and Atlanta, Toronto to Salt Lake City, and Vancouver to Austin. Canadian budget airline Swoop is also expanding flights to include non-stop flights to New York, San Francisco, Nashville, Los Angeles, and Chicago.
