Usually when we book vacations, we tend to veer towards warm destinations and springtime or summer getaways. We don’t typically think of winter as trip time, but we promise that this winter wonderland getaway will have you rethinking trips during the colder months. Located in Blackcomb Peak, British Columbia, this is a gorgeous spot for luxury skiing and much more. The 2010 Olympic Winter sliding sports were even hosted here.
The Fairmont Chateau Whistler can be found just 5 minutes from the ski resort and is just over a mile over the Lost Lake. It is extremely easy to book skiing lessons, a day out on the gold course (if weather permits) and also tours of Whistler.
Each of the hotel’s rooms (there are 550 in total) are lavish and luxurious, with incredible views of the village and the mountain. You can also go for the junior suite or 2 bedroom suite that features separate living rooms, pull out couches, and huge bathrooms.
There’s also an impressive spa, health club, tennis courts, and several pools. All of these come complete with gorgeous views as well. The Vida Spa provides a holistic and relaxing experience whether you visit the eucalyptus steam room, sauna, hot tubs, yoga classes, or heated lap pool that includes underwater music.
The hotel also features six restaurants you can choose from. Get a fresh and delicious croissant at Portobello Market & Bakery or have a leisurely brunch at Wildflower. Visit Mallard Lounge & Terrace for lunch and cocktails. You can get dinner at the Grill Room or at the Chalet, which offers fondue and alpine dishes.
While staying here, you can enjoy activities like golf and skiing, but you can also take the shuttle that takes you all around town so you can explore. The shuttle also takes you to and from the airport.
There are active classes like aqua fitness and yoga, and there are even festivals and concerts including Ironman Canada and Whistler Film Festival.
