Joran’s Story
Just a year later and Joran van der Sloot publishes his own book, “De zaak Natalee Holloway” (The Case of Natalee Holloway), recounting Natalee’s disappearance. It includes an abridged memoir, tales of his time in jail, and he firmly maintains his innocence throughout.
Wever: New Suspect
We’re now to the date of May 17, 2006, and a new suspect is located. In the Netherlands, Guido Wever, the son of a former Aruban politician, is detained on the grounds of suspicion of assisting in abducting, battering, and killing Natalee Holloway. For six days, Wever is questioned in Utrecht. Initially, the Aruban authorities tried to get him transferred to the island for questioning, but that didn’t happen. Instead he was released by some agreement made per the prosecutor and Wever’s attorney.
